Connor Bedard Is A Bust

After five games in the NHL it looks like Connor Bedard is a bust. As a first overall pick by the Chicago Blackhawks he was brought in to be the new enforcer. At five foot ten and 185 pounds he is an intimidating presence but has not lived up to all the hype. He has now played five games in the NHL and has not even gotten into a fight yet. What’s his problem? Sure he got a two minute penalty against Boston on October 11, but that’s not going to be enough to intimidate anyone.

Connor Bedard

Blackhawk management and fans expected another enforcer like Bob Probert, Al Secord or Keith Magnuson but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Sure, he might surprise with a few nice dangles and toe drags but he was brought in to fight and hockey fans are very disappointed.

Bedard has three points in his first five games in the NHL, not bad for a rookie. Maybe he will become an offensive force as opposed to the fighter we had hoped for. Only time will tell.

Am I missing something?
