The Zamboni Origins: Did you know that the iconic ice resurfacing machine, the Zamboni, was invented by Frank Zamboni in the 1940s? Originally, Zamboni was in the refrigeration business but found a need for a more efficient way to resurface ice rinks. The first Zamboni machine was cobbled together from various parts including a Jeep chassis, war surplus items, and components from a different ice resurfacing machine. This creation revolutionized ice maintenance, becoming synonymous with the game itself.
