On March 9, 1991 in a game against the St. Louis Blues Theo Fleury set the record for most short-handed goals in a single NHL game. Playing for the Calgary Flames he had 3 shorties and one assist. Many players have scored two in a game but Fleury’s three has stood the test of time….so far.

Theo Fleury, a dynamic and fearless forward, made his mark on the NHL during his illustrious career. Born on June 29, 1968, in Oxbow, Saskatchewan, Fleury’s tenacity and skill propelled him to success on the ice.
Drafted by the Calgary Flames in the 8th round of the 1987 NHL Draft, Fleury quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with. Standing at just 5 feet 6 inches tall, he defied the odds, becoming a fan favorite for his electrifying style of play.
During his time with the Flames from 1988 to 1999, Fleury showcased his scoring prowess, amassing an impressive 364 goals and 466 assists in 791 regular-season games. His speed and agility made him a constant threat, and he played a key role in Calgary’s 1989 Stanley Cup victory. Fleury served as the Calgary Flames captain from 1995-1997.
Fleury’s journey in the NHL didn’t end with the Flames. He went on to play for the Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers, and Chicago Blackhawks before retiring in 2003. Throughout his career, he racked up numerous accolades, including seven NHL All-Star selections.
