If one of your dreams is to own an NHL hockey team, start saving right now.
According to Forbes the most valuable NHL hockey team is the Toronto Maple Leafs at 2.8 billion dollars. It makes sense, Toronto is one of the Original Six teams and the city loves hockey. This year the Leafs just passed the New York Rangers who had been the highest valued team previously. The Rangers are still valued at around 2,65 billion and third in line is the Montreal Canadiens at 2.3 billion.
The Top Ten Valued NHL teams
The only Original Six team not in the top ten is the Detroit Red Wings who are down the list in 15th spot and valued at 1.2 billion
Who is the bottom team in terms of value? Well you probably guessed right, it’s the Arizona Coyotes at 500 million. The lowest valued Canadian team is the Winnipeg Jets in 28th spot at 780 million.
Conclusion: My dreams are shattered. Even the lowest valued team is a little out of my reach. Maybe if I get a second job….never mind.
